Pediatric Oncology

The aim of INCTR’s Pediatric Oncology Program is to improve the quality of care for children and adolescents with cancer in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC). The objectives of the program are to: 

  1. Strive to ensure children and adolescents with suspected cancer have an accurate diagnosis and access to treatment in the countries where INCTR and its branches work.
  2. Provide education and training in pediatric cancer and its management including supportive care, psychosocial support and palliative care through a variety of methods.
  3. Design and develop clinical research studies in selected pediatric cancers that are feasible, affordable and yet effective for LMIC.
  4. Establish comprehensive pediatric cancer programs in settings where there are identified needs.
  5. Establish programs within institutions to address specific aspects of pediatric cancer care where there are identified needs.

Partners

INCTR and its branches and office partner with other organizations and institutions that have overlapping interests and activities.  Partnerships may entail the joint conduct of projects.  Partner organizations may provide or contribute to an element or elements of a specific INCTR branch/office project or program.
